The Parade carbon footprint takes into account CO2 emissions across all of our activity, through scopes 1, 2 and 3, i.e. throughout the life cycle, from raw materials to the end of the product's life. It takes into account direct and indirect emissions (including upstream and downstream activities).

81% The share of raw materials in Parade's carbon footprint in 2021

We also carry out Life Cycle Analyses (LCAs) on all our footwear and clothing products to measure the environmental impact of each item. These analyses are carried out using our environmental calculators, developed within the Eram Group from ADEME's EMPREINTE® database. The EMPREINTE® database is unique in that it is standardised for all market players. It is the official public reference for regulations. It was created by merging ADEME's IMPACTS® and CARBONE® databases.

What is an LCA ?

A Life Cycle Analysis is an assessment of a product’s direct or indirect impact on the environment, from extraction of the raw materials it is made from, up to and including its use and its disposal. This environmental assessment is multi-stage and multi-criteria (impact on climate change and impact on water pollution).

A clothing calculator certified byAFNOR.

Our clothing calculator complies with regulations and is certified by AFNOR. AFNOR is an organisation governed by French 1901 Law, whose mission is to lead and coordinate the process of developing standards, and to promote their application.

A shoe calculator approved by the Eco-design Cluster.

Our shoe calculator has been validated by the Eco-Design Cluster. In the absence of official regulations on footwear, Parade and the Eram Group have proactively defined their own methodology, approved by the national centre for eco-design and life-cycle performance. The expertise of the Eco-Design Cluster is recognised nationally and internationally by ADEME, the French Ministry of the Environment, AFNOR, ISO and the UN-environment.
