OUR COMMITMENTS TO RESPONSIBILITY

CHANGE FOR GOOD, our company project

Parade, a brand of the Eram Group, is an integral part of the Group's global corporate project, Change For Good, which sets the course and unites the Group's 9 brands around a common ambition: to become a benchmark company, recognised for its responsible performance. Its objective: to reduce the carbon footprint of its activities by 30%.

Between now and 2025, the ERAM Group and Parade have set themselves the following objectives:

> Develop eco-design to cover 30% of our product range.

> Reduce our energy intensity by 40%.

> Engage 100% of our suppliers in a compliance approach

> Eliminate or replace all single-use plastic packaging.

OUR COMMITMENTS AND SOCIAL REGULATIONS

The Eram Group has been a member of the ICS* industry initiative since 1 January 2023, and as such is fully aligned with its social and environmental code of conduct. This defines the practices expected of manufacturers in terms of working conditions, including zero-tolerance practices. Managing the risks associated with the social and environmental conditions under which our products are manufactured is a priority area of work linked to the duty of care of the Eram Group and its companies.

*Initiative for Compliance and sustainability

OUR COMMITMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS

Our conviction: Our sustainable performance will only be of value if we have the means to measure it. A low-carbon strategy is based on 3 pillars: measurement, reduction and compensation. Because there can be no compensation without measurement, and no compensation without reduction. The carbon footprint is an essential steering tool in the deployment of our environmental strategy. Since 2019, Parade has carried out its carbon assessment every 2 years, covering the 3 scopes:

- Scope 1: direct emissions (regulatory) ;

- Scope 2: indirect energy-related emissions (regulatory);

- Scope 3: all other indirect emissions including upstream and downstream activities (optional). The latter represents 99% of the Parade carbon footprint.

MEASURE TO REDUCE AND ACT

The Parade carbon footprint accounts for CO2 emissions across the entire scope of our activity, through scopes 1, 2 and 3, i.e. throughout the life cycle, from raw materials to the end of the product's life. It takes into account direct and indirect emissions (including upstream and downstream activities).

Key figure: 81% Raw materials will account for 81% of Parade's carbon footprint in 2021. In total, 87% of Parade's carbon footprint is product-related.

Some actions to reduce our carbon emissions:

> Controlling our raw materials to reduce their environmental impact

> Sélectionner des matières premières bas carbone (recyclées, organiques, labellisées) et travailler sur des matières dites innovantes

what is a life cycle assessment (lca)?

We also carry out Life Cycle Analyses (LCA) on all our footwear and textile products to measure the environmental impact of each of our models. These analyses are carried out using our environmental calculators, developed within the Eram Group from ADEME's EMPREINTE® database.

How is an LCA analysis defined?

It is a tool for assessing the direct or indirect effects of a product on the environment, from the extraction of the raw materials that go into its composition, through to its use and disposal. This environmental assessment is multi-stage and multi-criteria (impact on climate change and impact on water pollution).

HOW DO YOU CARRY OUT THIS ANALYSIS?

At Parade, two different calculators are used depending on the type of product: one for our safety footwear and a second for our workwear.

A shoe calculator validated by the Eco-design cluster

Our footwear calculator is validated by the Eco-design Centre. In the absence of official regulations on footwear, Parade and the Eram Group have proactively defined their own methodology, validated by the national centre for eco-design and life-cycle performance. The Eco-design Centre's expertise is recognised nationally and internationally by ADEME, the French Ministry of the Environment, AFNOR, ISO and the UN Environment.

An AFNOR-certified textile calculator

Our textile calculator complies with the regulations and is certified by AFNOR. AFNOR is an association governed by the law of 1901, whose mission is to lead and coordinate the process of developing standards, and to promote their application.

AND THE AGEC LAW IN ALL THIS?

The AGEC law (Anti-waste for a circular economy) is a law enacted in February 2020 in France. Its aim is to transform our linear economy (produce, consume, throw away) into a circular economy. The main aim of the AGEC law is to limit waste and preserve natural resources, biodiversity and the climate.

This law in favour of the circular economy has five main aims:

- Eliminating disposable plastic by 2040;

- Better consumer information;

- Combating the waste of resources;

- Acting against programmed obsolescence;

- Better production.

FOCUS ON ARTICLE 13 and 17

Article 17: provides for better consumer information on waste sorting and requires the presence of the Triman sign specifying product sorting procedures. The latter applies to those placing new consumer products on the French market, including online sales.

Article 13: provides for better consumer information on the environmental qualities and characteristics of products. This applies to those placing new consumer products on the French market, including online sales.

What information will consumers receive?

> Geographical traceability of the 3 main stages in the manufacturing process. For shoes: stitching / assembly / finishing, for textiles: weaving / dyeing or printing / making up.

> the presence of plastic microfibres during washing, where applicable

> the proportion of recycled materials (including packaging), where applicable

> the presence of hazardous materials (including packaging), where applicable

WHERE AND HOW CAN I FIND THIS INFORMATION FOR PARADE PRODUCTS?

There are several ways to find out about the environmental qualities of each of our products:

The first way is to go to a product sheet on our website, then click on the ‘environmental qualities’ tab.

The second is by flashing the QR code in our catalogue. This will take you to the product sheet on the web, so you can open the ‘environmental qualities’ tab.

Finally, if you consult our technical data sheets, available on the website under the ‘documentation’ tab, the environmental information is presented on the 2nd page.

We explain how to read the information in these instructions for use:
